Through
the Alum/Active office, there is a multitude of ways to
get involved with the Alpha Eta Chapter at Vanderbilt
University.
Throughout the year, Alums volunteer separately or in
pairs to host a group of girls at their home for dinner
and fellowship; this is a great opportunity to get to
know some of the girls one-on-one and for them to enjoy
a home-cooked meal.
In the fall, the Vandy Thetas host their annual Theta
BBQ where the proceeds benefit the Fannie Battle
Children’s Home. Alums bake brownies for this event to
support their fundraising efforts.
Once the girls return from fall break, the alums gather
at the Alpha Eta house to help the girls decorate for
Christmas by hanging garland and wreaths on their front
porch, and lighting and decorating their Christmas tree.
Recruitment is also another great time to get involved
with the Alpha Eta Chapter. Alums provide food
throughout the week for girls and their mothers to snack
on in between parties. This is also a great chance for
alums to catch a glimpse of the girls in action
performing KATS!

The Senior Send-off Party is the perfect time to welcome
the girls to alumnae status and remind them what Theta
for a Lifetime is all about. We gather at the Alpha Eta
house to share all the great reasons to stay involved in
Theta, learn about the girls future plans and present
the girls with a gift.
